About us

At Properties of the World we pride ourselves on the relationship of trust we enjoy with both clients and developers and the firm rapport we build with them.

Founder Jean Liggett spent over 20 years working in the media for companies such as EMAP plc and Ogilvy & Mather before setting up Properties of the World. Her experience working for these companies, and as a consultant to others such as Mirror Group, CNBC, Capital Radio and Hachette, taught Jean the importance of professionalism and integrity and these are key values at Properties of the World.

Setting up Properties of the World was a natural career progression for Jean as her family has been involved in property in the USA since the 1940s, specifically, in Columbus, Ohio. Her grandfather was a pioneer in property finance and financed some of the first skyscrapers in the Midwest. Jean's father and uncle carried on the family tradition; instead of lending money though, they built upmarket houses in Columbus and later apartments and office buildings. They earned a reputation for quality and reliability; so much so that clients for whom they built houses would come back to them for their next house and also recommend them to friends and family.

Jean's family's success was built on long term relationships, a deep understanding of the property market and an innovative and visionary approach and Properties of the World continues this tradition.

Jean has acted as a property finder in London since 2007 and all the properties she has found for clients have increased in value despite the post 2008 property slump. One notable success was the acquisition on Jean's advice of a Georgian house in Whitechapel which since its purchase for £550,000 in 2007 has now been valued at over £750,000.

Jean also started a property consultancy specialising in Morocco in summer 2007 called Elan Properties (). French is the business language in Morocco and the fact that Jean speaks French has enabled her to build strong relationships with local developers and agents and gain an advantage over her competitors.

Elan Properties led in turn to the formation of Properties of the World. Properties of the World have continued to build lasting connections with developers and agents in a variety of different countries and as we not limited to any particular country we can offer our clients the best investment properties throughout the world.

Founded on the principles Jean has embraced throughout her successful career, Properties of the World offers you integrity, respect, reliability and professionalism - we are your property champion from start to finish.

Jean has an MBA from Cass Business School, London and a BA in History (with a minor in French and Economics) from Kenyon College, USA.
