Jean is the Managing Director of Properties of the World. She helps property buyers make informed decisions on selected UK properties so that the property they purchase ‘ticks all the boxes’.
Jean made a choice to change her career back in 2007 and move into property after more than 20 years in the media. Her grandfather raised funds to build skyscrapers in the Ohio, USA and her father had a successful building construction company (working with a nationally renowned award winning architect).
“If I can be half as successful as my father was, that would be brilliant.”
She worked in senior positions and/or consulted for blue chip companies including , Ogilvy & Mather (New York & London), Capital Radio, Virgin Media, H. Bauer Publishing, EMAP Plc. and Hachette Filipacchi Médias.
As a student, she spent one year studying in Paris, and to this day endeavours to keep her French up to scratch by regular visits to see her friends in France and back home watches TV5. She is a regular contributor to media publications on property and has also written/interviewed for the Sunday Times, the Mirror, the Express, Country Life, China Daily and Finance Digest amongst others.
Jean loves to travel, has a keen interest in architecture, politics, film and theatre and is an avid reader of newspapers and books. She also enjoys playing tennis, swimming and tai chi. In her younger, fitter days, she bicycle raced.
Her guilty pleasures include fine dining, visiting quaint cafes and socialising. Her love for luxury living extends to holidaying at 4 and 5 star hotels and is also evident in her most recent purchase – a spacious room at a leading hotel in Wales.
Jean has an MBA from Cass Business School (part of University of London) and a BA in History from Kenyon College, USA.
