Battersea… A Prime Riverside Location
Battersea is the perfect area for those who long for the quintessential, private and green spaces you would expect to find within an affluent village, but who still appreciate such close proximity to great city bars, restaurants, art spaces and pubs. In this case, there is no need to journey as far as the West End (which is around 20mins away by taxi or car and around 25mins by train) with Battersea, Southbank , Chelsea and the River Thames boat services being almost a stone throw away from the development.
The development is extremely close to the River Thames, Chelsea and Battersea Park (a 7 min walk away from the development) as well as the Children’s Zoo, the Pump House Gallery – known for showcasing impressive contemporary art exhibitions – and the Peace Pagoda, where one can go rowing on the lake during the summer months.
There are also several dining options dotted around the cobblestones of Battersea Square whilst Northcote Road and Lavender Hill are where many flock for their dose of independent boutique shopping.
Welcome to Battersea
Battersea seems to have remained under the radar, despite its closeness to some of Central London’s hotspots – think areas such as Fulham and Chelsea. This may perhaps have something to do with the fact that no tube station serves this area (although its current transport offering is actually quite good). This, however, is is set to change with the extension of the Northern underground line in 2020, not to mention the new US embassy.
Originally, Battersea was seen as a great alternative for house hunters who were priced out of the likes of Chelsea, Clapham and Fulham. Over the years, people have begun to appreciate the fine Victorian architecture, good schools and vast, green park found at the centre of this small but rather friendly area. Just think; Battersea Power Station was recently converted into a large residential and mixed-use commercial space and within a few days, £600 million worth of property was sold there. This truly speaks volumes on how far the area has come.
We currently have access to a number of exciting off-plan projects around the Battersea area.
